"Our primary concern is to keep the property safe for everybody," said Dr. Robert S. Zierzki, senior executive director of the National Park Service.

He said the project is not currently under review and plans to take some of the funds needed for the project to be finalised.

Mayor Ron Pawlenty confirmed plans for reconstruction of the road are still under negotiation.

Neighborhood councillors have complained that a section of the property has been hit by an earthquake and tsunami several times, sometimes as a result of major street closures. Some residents have been forced to move to new areas during the earthquake.

Meanwhile, the city has stepped up its own cleanup efforts at the neighborhood's main shopping area with the goal of cleaning up the neighborhood's mess in order to help keep the roads safe.

Downtown has been transformed following the tsunami in the Pacific Northwest, with the addition of a new shopping area to the northwest corner, which includes a new street that was previously only covered by parking.

In addition to streets including the new shopping and bike lane that is going to be built, the new parking area, known as The City Shop, is also designed to protect the new area from flooding in the north; and the new plaza that will be constructed next to it.

"Our goal remains to keep the sidewalks as clear as possible, and to provide traffic flow," Mr. Zierzki said.

  1. How much longer can we keep up this lefty bullsh*t we need to stay strong to our values.

  2. I can’t agree more, as my brother went on to become a volunteer in Syria, fighting alongside Syrian moderate opposition versus Assad – and died. All because US did not stop Assad in 2011-2012.
